TFT for photographer

  • Hello everybody!

I hope I can be forgiven for writing in English. I have been glued for weeks to this outstanding site which has no parallel in the English-speaking world, and have narrowed down my choices to the NEC 1980sx and the Eizo L768. I know that either of them would make me happy as a photographer but I've been agonizing over the choice. I know the NEC has been around for a while and has proven itself, but I am tempted by the Eizo's 1000:1 contrast ratio and its five-year warranty. Are these features for real or just marketing propaganda?

I would be most appreciative for your opinions on the subject and for any help to end the agony of choosing.

    Regards,

    Richard

  • We have an english section, so english ist just fine.

As I can see, you choosed two very good devices.

As you said, the contrast ratio of 1000:1 and the five years warranty is a big advantage of the Eizo. The 768 is really a prof. TFT, it has some more advantages against the 1980sx. First take a look at the colourtable, which is one of the finnest and best at the 768 on the 19" TFT market. A second advantage is the settings-set which was made specially for graficusers.

  • Hi Totamec,

It's with great joy that I read your reply when I came home from work today. Your opinion as a veteran contributor to this board carries great weight and has given me that little push I needed to end the uncertainty that paralyzed me. Thanks for steering me onto the Eizo L768 -- you've convinced me of its superiority in dealing with images and the advantages of the five-year warranty.

I will post my first impressions when I get the monitor.

    Regards,

    Richard
