REVIEW: HP LP2465 Part 5

Including the weight of stand the HP LP2465 weighs 10.6 kg in total. The inner structure of the stand is made from metal which is covered by a black plastic shell.

The large stand of the HP LP2465 accounts for its excellent stability on the desk. Bumping the desk plate with force doesn't seem to bother the display much, making an highly unlikely to topple the monitor by accident.

The Power LED is situated to the left edge of the Power button. The Power LED illuminates green when operational, and orange indicates when in standby mode. While the LED admittedly shines fairly bright, it does not reach an annoying degree in our opinion.

The HP LP2465 operates virtually silent; in order to perceive a very faint humming sound you would actually have to put your ear directly to the back of the housing.

The integrated power supply of the LCD monitor comes with an On/Off switch on its back by means of which the HP LP2465 can be disconnected from electricity without having to pull the plug. Although, when sitting in front of the monitor, the power switch is rather circumstantial to reach for.

According to Hewlett Packard, the power consumption of the HP LP2465 amounts to a maximum of 110 Watts with all USB ports in use. In stand-by mode, the maximum power consumption is two Watt, the specification claims. We crosschecked the values stated by means of a power-measuring device.

Power consumption

  Manufacturer Measured
110 W 79,9 W
2 W 1,1 W
- 0,6 W

If the LCD monitor's power is cut off by means of the power switch, the energy consumed is down to zero. The HP LP2465's consumption values turn out to be significantly less than the manufacturer specs, which seems particularly favorable when regarding this LCD's size.

The workmanship HP LP2465 is flawless; all parts of the housing fit together neatly and are accurate to size. No sounds creaking or cracking sounds could be heard during the course of our review. The mechanics of our review unit worked well overall, with the sole exception of the height adjustment being somewhat tough-running. Overall, workmanship and mechanics is very good.
