The Eizo software also offers the OSD an extended range of functions. For example, it allows particular settings to be connected with an application – when this application is started, then settings are then automatically called up.

Deep black borders in films: On the left, a film at normal brightness. On the right, the brightness of the desktop is in WindowMovie Mode – reduced to 50 percent, whilst the film maintains its brightness as an overlay.

In addition, the WindowMovie Mode is found exclusively here. This allows the user to keep the brightness of a film in certain conditions whilst the rest of the screen – the black borders- is darkened.

However, this only works when the film is designated an "overlay" by the software player via the graphics card. Thus, this is really the same function as the graphics card driver offers, but it can be automated comfortably in the Eizo Screen manager.

Furthermore, Hot keys can be defined within the Screen manager in order to allow certain settings to be changed and modified quickly.

ne of the most interesting settings within the Screen manager is the possibility to define your own tone curve instead of the Gamma value. In the OSD, the Gamma value is then displayed as "FIXED".

The tone curve setting within ScreenManager Pro allows the user to modify the Gamma curve.

Conclusion OSD/Controls:

As it did in the previous model, the successful Screen manager makes up for the somewhat limited controls on the Eizo S2111W-K using the sensor buttons. Although the buttons work precisely this time, using them to change settings can be a bit of a guessing game, especially in darkened surroundings.

The OSD itself seems a little dull, is very small and its numerous settings are not ordered in a logical manner in some cases. However, the Screen manager software makes this better in that it offers additional functions and completes the huge spectrum of functions the Eizo S2111W-K has to offer.
