REVIEW: LG Flatron W2600HP Part 2

Scope of supply

The LG W2600HP is well packed within the box. The packing contains a DVI and D-Sub cable, a Quick Set-up Guide, a CD, a USB cable, the guarantee card, the base and the power cable as well as the monitor.

Complete: The scope of supply of the LG W2600HP

In order to be able to begin using the 26-inch model, you must place the base onto the two metal hooks, push it down and fix it using the screw included. No screwdriver is needed.

The steps necessary for installation are described in detail in the user guide (Software) and in the Quick Setup Guide. Here, you can do nothing wrong. Finally, the metal pin for locking the height adjustment must be removed.

Design and mechanics

The LG W2600HP looks very large with its pillar-shaped base and gives the impression of high quality. In terms of design, the Koreans are still light years ahead of the Japanese NEC and Eizo. However, the W2600HP does seem rather discreet amongst the LG models. In any case, the silver-grey strip with the elegant power button in aluminium design is an eye-catcher.

A real eye-catcher: The W2600HP is comparatively simple and yet still looks elegant.

The matte black back of the 26-inch model is slightly rounded. The large LG logo is resplendent on the left hand side. The panel frame is made of smooth, almost black plastic.

The frame measures 2,5 cm at the top and sides and 4.3 cm at the bottom. This is slightly too much for multi-monitor usage, but with a 26-inch screen, there is still sufficient space available.

The rounded construction with matte black, stable plastic has a very high quality look.
