Interpolation

When using resolutions which are not in 16:9 format, justified display can be brought about in the menu of the G2411HD. It is praiseworthy that all formats can really be interpolated with the correct aspect ratio. Thus, distortion can be avoided in aspect ratios in the formats 5:4 and 16:10. A hardware-based one-to-one display is unfortunately not offered.

The native resolution is 1.920 x 1.080.

Aspect ratio 16:10; left resolution 1.440 x 900; right: Resolution 1.680 x 1.050.

As can be seen, the native resolution offers the sharpest image: Here, each pixel of the signal is equivalent to one pixel of the monitor. In all other resolutions, the electronics must increase the source resolution to the resolution of the panel. Thus, there is a reduction in the display quality, expressed in particular through shadow formation and blurring.

This shadow formation is very clear when all non-native resolutions are displayed on the G2411HD and causes pronounced blurring. For everyday office use, we recommend that you always use the native resolution.

Interpolation: Games:

In the game Anno 1701, many sharp edges can be seen, which reflect the interpolation behaviour well. The flag fluttering in the wind should be used as a particular point of reference. Anti-aliasing, which reduces step formation at edges, has been deactivated in the driver and in the game.
