Left: 1.024 x 768 and right: 800 x 600 both justified.
Naturally, the distortion in stretched display is clearly visible. If you are deviating from the native resolution, you should always select justified display. The labelling of the button on the monitor is somewhat confusing. This is called “4:3 Wide" and would indeed lead the user to believe that the model only recognises the native mode 16:9 and the format factor 4:3, which is not the case.

Interpolation games
In order to reveal the interpolation quality in games, we tested the behaviour of the screen using Unreal Tournament 3.
Native resolution 1.920 x 1.080.
Left: resolution 1.680 x 1.050 stretched and right: resolution 1.600 x 900.
1.280 x 1.024: Left: justified and right: justified.
1.024 x 768: Left: justified and right: stretched.
The interpolation on the LG W2442PA is satisfactory. A 1:1 mode would be desirable and the quality of the interpolated image could also be better.
Image sharpness
The text can be influenced using the sharpness regulator. The level is set to 5 as standard, which proved ideal on our test model.

Sharpness regulator at 10: Edges demonstrate slight over-sharpening.
Sharpness regulator at 0: Text is blurry and can hardly be read any more.
