REVIEW: Hyundai L70D+ Part 2

In order to setup the monitor one is supposed to plug the monitor arm into a separate base. The whole procedure is very elaborately described and the mounting is accomplished within a matter of seconds. A little more effort is required for unmounting the monitor base. Here, a silver metal plate that is attached to the underside of the foot with 4 screws has to be released at first.

The lateral view of the Hyundai L70D+. The picture in the middle shows the maximum possible slant of the 17 inch model.

Design

The Hyundai L70D+ is entirely made from silver colored and light black plastic. The width of the silver frame is 2.0 cm at the top and 1.6 cm at the sides. The lower frame is composed of the inlaid silver fame and the part that holds the control elements and the speakers beneath it. The bottom frame is 5 cm thick at the sides and increases in thickness towards the middle of the panel up to 5.7 cm. The distance from the desk to the bottom edge of the frame measures 4.8 cm at the middle and 5.5 cm at the sides. The actual picture thereby starts at height of 10.5 cm.

The Hyundai L70D+ a rather simplistic appearance and can be easily integrated into a similar environment this way. The 5 shiny control buttons add to the aesthetic value of the monitor.

On each side 2 longish buttons are integrated next to the round power button with integrated LED. The speakers have been built into the left and right corner.

Integrating a cable duct or a cable cover plate on the rear side of the monitor case has been refrained from. Connecting a DVI cable is significantly impeded, at least if you are utilizing a cable other than the included one. The room that has been reserved for the cable is so small that it becomes very impracticable to connect a standard cable. At least on one of both sides tightening the screws is hardly possible.

By using the included DVI cable, the Hyundai L70D+ can be hooked up to the graphics card without any problems. It is not always possible to use standard cable, since the cut-out on the back of the case is has been gauged to concise.
