Introduction

The saying goes "The bigger the better", right? So we decided to test the 21.3 Inch Iiyama H540S-B. According to our knowledge it packs a NEC IPS Panel with a response time of 20ms.

Devices that have a IPS or S-IPS Panel built in are generally popular among gamers, which is due to the fact that gaming requires properties that this certain panel technology manages to unify. Those are: very good viewing angles, good color reproduction and swift screen sequence.

All results issued in this review have been established by using the digital input, with the exception of the test runs for analog image quality, which have been established on the analog input. Our testbed ran with a Gainward 750 Geforce4 Titanium graphics card.

Scope of supply

Next to the display the carton packs a quick manual, a D-Sub to DVI-A cable, a DVI-D cable, a cable run, a power cable, an audio cable, a USB cable, pivot software and a CD containing drivers and a PDF manual.

It comes with a transportation lock in form of a bent aglet that is stuck in the rear part of the pedestal. In order to alter the monitor's height the aglet has to be pulled out. To remove it, push the monitor downwards at the top and then pull the aglet out.
