REVIEW: Samsung 180T![]()
++ very good, + good, +/- satisfactory, - bad, -- very bad The monitor, which is fabricated in Korea, makes a first class impression in respect of design, but has - compared to other current top models - a rather wide frame around the panel. The picture quality in digital mode is really top notch.
Advertisement Alongside to the display we received a driver disk, a manual, an analog monitor cable and software for making adjustments to the display color configuration and for creating a monitor profile. This software also gives you the possibility of syntonizing you printer with the monitor profile. The accompanying driver disk contains all necessary drivers. Making settings with the color calibration software can be achieved quite easily. The fact that no digital cable was included. This should really go without saying for a monitor in this price range. Setting up the monitor is a matter of a few minutes only. The connectors on the rear side are only moderately accessible. So connecting the cables isn't all-to easy. The gadget can be slanted to the front and to the back. The foot of the monitor permits swiveling. However, height adjustment or pivoting is not possible. The control elements of the OSD are placed in the middle and can be easily operated. The image appears to be of first class quality. There is no need for altering the default settings because, because all predefined values seem to be ideal. All settings can be made using the OSD. The following options are available: Synchronization: Fine (phase) and raw (frequency) The monitor has 2 faulty pixels, that don't stand out during normal work. The picture seems perfect in the default setting. Colors are luscious, but the Neovo appears to be slightly superior in this regard. All in all, the customer receives a monitor that is recommendable without restrictions of any kind. Overall rating: GOOD Technical specifications: Samsung SyncMaster 180T
