Crooked goings-on at the CES: As our friends at PCGH have reported, Alienware is presenting a prototype for a screen that offers a resolution of 2,880 x 900 pixels. In order to enable the user to view this extreme widescreen with his/her own eyes, the screen is curved.

The Alienware DLP display is expected to appear in the latter half of 2008 and will come with the 2,880 x 900 panorama format, which is equivalent to the resolution of three 19-inch widescreen displays.

According to Engadget, the repsonse time is 0.02 milliseconds; however, the source of this figure is not disclosed. In any case, no drag effects can be seen when playing Crysis. More images and a video are provided on the Engadget website.
