A good thing made even better: With the Samsung SyncMaster LD220Z, Samsung is presenting an additional Lapfit monitor with Multi-Touch function. For the launch of the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system with integrated touch function, customers will thus have a practical second screen available for their laptops: the glossy black Lapfit Touch Display can be used in addition to the laptop screen if a larger screen surface is needed. With a screen diagonal of 22 inches in 16:9 widescreen format, the new Lapfit display increases productivity and thus makes work easier. Films and computer games can also be played back in real Full HD resolution. Thanks to the Windows 7 multi-touch function, programs can also be controlled easily with finger control.

The Lapfit Touch Display from Samsung makes working with a second screen especially pleasant, since the screen stands at the same height as the laptop and connects flush with the lower edge of the laptop screen. To this end, it has an innovative base design on the back, with which the angle can be adjusted to match the laptop, instead of a normal base. The screen is connected to the laptop via the integrated HDMI or D-Sub port.


The screen supports the Multi-Touch function from Windows 7, so users can control a range of functions and programs by touching the screen. Thus, Windows 7 offers a virtual screen keyboard, for example, or also integrated handwriting recognition. Both functions can be used perfectly on the SyncMaster LD220Z in order to enter texts or fill in forms on the screen. The LD220Z also supports the Windows 7 Touch Pack, a collection of programs developed specially for touch usage.

It is especially convenient that the screen switches automatically into energy-saving mode together with the laptop. Then, the screen consumes less than one watt and thus also helps to save power even for short breaks.

The Samsung SyncMaster LD220Z is available from the end of the year. The price will be announced when the product is available.
