With the IP54 Cabinet, NEC Display Solutions is bringing tailor-made protective exteriors to the market for its P461 and X461HB LCD Public Displays. The exteriors are certified by independent testing organisation SEMKO and protect the large-format NEC monitors from environmental effects as per the IP54 specifications. At the same time, they guarantee ideal working temperatures. Areas of application include shopping centers and reception halls or in weatherproofed areas of train stations and airports. Together with Option-Slot products such as the Built-in PC or the NEC Media Player, NEC Display Solutions offers complete, all-in-one digital signage solutions.


Public displays are usually used in public places in order to reach as many people as possible. Here, they are often affected by environmental factors. The NEC IP54 Cabinet can fend off touch, dust build-up and water spray and therefore guarantees flawless functionality and legibility for the high-quality monitors. Powerful, maintenance-free and reliable air conditioning through what are known as Peltier elements cools or warms the models if required and thus ensures that the display is functioning within the ideal temperature range at any time.

Extensive tests with various alternatives have revealed that the SEMKO-certified NEC IP54 Cabinet is the only solution that guarantees constant, problem-free usage. It is therefore recommended exclusively by NEC Display Solutions. The protective casing is available for the P461 and X461HB screens, both in landscape and portrait mode. Each version is optimised for the temperature management of the respective monitor. As well as the standard colour white, the frame can be painted individually to suit the requirements of the customer.
