Shortly after Sharp presented a glasses-free 3D touch screen for small portable devices last week, the Japanese company now introduces a larger pendant. The 10.6 inch 3D capable displays is said to need no shutter-glasses, too and will be implemented into netbooks and e-book readers.

As Sharp refused to give further details, right now there can only be guessing, if the new display is based on the same technology as its smaller predecessor. According to the company, the device itself is at an early stage of development, however, first prototypes have been tested successfully.

So little is known at the moment: Sharp’s display is said to provide a touch-screen function, and shall be able to be switched to 2D mode, that is it. There was not even any comment on the question, when the 3D display will be built into certain products.
