The 55-inch LCD large format screen NEC P551 will come onto the market in July 2010. Due to the high image refresh rate, the first public display providing 120 Hertz technology and bearing a professional panel is predestined for the playback of rapid movements. The P551 features an elegant, slim bezel and a maximum brightness of 700cd/m2. The monitor is suited best for the display of demanding retail signage applications, for the use as an information screen at public traffic systems or as centrepiece of conference and control rooms.
With 120 cycles per second, the P551 is able to display even fast moving objects with clear outlines. This quality becomes noticeable particularly positive at sports broadcasts, fast running news tickers and animated digital signage applications. Each piece of content will be displayed razor-sharp and distortion-free with brilliant colours.

Via the built-in LAN interface, the P551 monitor can be integrated in a SNMP environment to be used for platform control and monitoring. Locally, the monitor, besides all common analog and digital connections, provides a DisplayPort link, which supports higher bandwidths and extended connection cables. Like its sister models of the P series, the P551 also features an integrated ambient light sensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen. Expansion modules such as the NEC Media Player or the Built-in PC can be hosted in the so-called Option Slot, which means that such extras will be situated in the monitor's housing. As they are surrogates for external devices, annoying cable connections are eliminated, which increases the appearance of the total installation.
The black-bezel version of the NEC P551 will be available in July 2010 at a price of 5,119 Euros (incl. VAT). NEC Display Solutions Europe grants three years warranty including the backlighting.
