Sadly, a little too late for the holiday season, Philips outs a new 3D large-screen. The 273G monitor with W-LED backlight and two HDMI inputs features a 27-inch screen diagonal and delivers full HD resolution with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

While one pair of wireless active-shutter 3D glasses is included, bundled software converts two-dimensional games and movies to 3D content with a few mouse clicks. With Blu-ray game and movie players equipped with an HDMI 1.4a compatible port, the Philips 273G automatically switches to 3D mode.
The new 3D monitor has all the Philips smart features for the optimization of image quality, responsiveness and control. Based on the static contrast ratio of 1,000:1, 'SmartContrast' raises the contrast level to 20 million to one, which is also one advantage of the LED backlight, another one being the integrated power supply consumes only 25 watts.

'SmartImage' technology analyses the display and, according to screen content, automatically switches between modes for office, images, entertainment and energy saving. Users who do not like the operation via OSD will find the 'SmartControl' software to be a good alternative, as it allows making screen settings via mouse operation.
