With the 65-inch TX-P65V10 and the 58-inch TX-P58V10, Panasonic is extending its range of twelfth generation plasma televisions. Both models have a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and, thanks to the latest neoPDP panel, offer reduced power consumption with an improved response time and increased contrast ratio. The contrast ratio could this be increased to an impressive 40,000:1, whilst the response time is a mere 0.001 milliseconds. Image material in DivX and 24p format is also supported.

In terms of connections, the models offer four HDMI, two SCART and one Component, VGA-, S-Video and Composite connection and should therefore leave nothing to be desired. A DVB-S2/-T tuner and card reader which supports the playback of videos in AVCHD and AVCHD Lite format is also integrated. Additional features such as DNLA client and VIERA Link for wireless control of all HiFi components round off the overall picture. Thanks to VIERA CAST, users can also surf the Internet from the comfort of the sofa.

However, it is not yet known when precisely the models will be launched in Europe. In Japan, Panasonic’s latest plasma displays are already in retail, which means that they can be expected to appear in Germany by the end of the year.
