At the start of the week, Taiwanese financial journal, the Economic Daily News (EDN), reported that Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) had received a large order from Samsung for the production of LCD TVs. Accordingly, the company is reported to be set to produce around five million devices on contract for and in doing so will equip at least 40 percent of the TVs with panels from AU Optronics (AUO).

Now Foxconn itself has announced to the Taiwanese stock exchange that this report by the Economic Daily News is not correct. The company has stated that it has received no such contract from Samsung and says that the article is untrue.
