The people at Bang & Olufsen have unveiled a 3D version of their BeoVision 7 LCD TV. The new model with a screen size of 40 or 55 inch features an internal 3D-enabled Blu-ray player. "The fact that you can select a solution where the 3D Blu-ray player is built-in is rather unique and Bang & Olufsen is one of the very few companies in the world who offers that," states Ole Moltsen, Senior Product Manager from Bang & Olufsen.

To generate the 3D effect, the Danish premium brand uses active shutter technology and a frame rate of 200/240 Hz. Adaptive judder equalization and scanning backlight improve the image quality of fast motion sequences.
Whereas the 55-inch screen deploys direct type LED Backlight with local dimming, the 40-inch model is illuminated to 500cd/m2 by a CCFL backlight. Other than the power consumption, the contrast of the latter thus is lower. The smaller version consumes 191 watts, compared with 165 watts consumed by the large version. The restriction that freedom of view is only given within a 89-degree angle (v/h), applies to both models.

Spatial sound reproduction is achieved through a surround sound module, the connectivity options include four HDMI connections and six AV connections. With its engine stand, the BeoVision 7 is prepared for the installation on the floor, but a wall mount option is also available.
