GLOSSARY

DSTN

Double Supertwisted Nematic. In older liquid crystal displays (LCDs), this technology was being used for actuating the separate pixels. It was replaced by TFT technology as the contrast achievable by it was very low (15:1) and the pronounced inertia of these displays - due to long afterglow of pixels – made application possibilities accordingly limited (fast moving pictures are hard to recognize).
