GLOSSARY

The contrast is the brightness difference between a white and a black area displayed on the screen. In the field of LCDs, the contrast is usually denoted as the ratio from a black dot to a white dot (maximum contrast). Colors are not included in this specification. Computer monitors with high contrast ratios allow for working even in brightly lit environments.
