How to justify the monster-overprice on Eizo L797?

  • I cant understand how Eizo justify the difference in price.
    Can somebody explain for me?

Because what does it have that the 778 doesnt have?
Are the IPS in some way still better than VA?
Or will Eizo cut the L797 price soon?

The 778 have A super duper doped 16 (12)ms and it is based on VA tech so it gets better color and view-angle, speaker, auto bright-regulator and a lot more...

I cant se any "plus" for the 797
Except more like this: classic business-look (no speaker), a classic foot, OK none of this are actually "plus". Maybe only this, dual DVI-I ports and more
graphic adjustment for a lots of colors.

According to the review, the L778 seem to have goodies everywhere. What advantage does the L797 have that I cant see but Eizo can see (more advantage higher price?).
Or Is this the final big leap for the VA-tech to pass IPS?

    L768 xVA 25ms, 620 EURO
    L778 xVA 16ms, 810 EURO

ADD another 460 EURO (My wallet really bleeds...)

L797 SIPS 20ms, 1270 EURO ( All prices from Sweden)

The only reason I might want to buy the L797-Grey is that Eizo will get it in stock around end of January here.
Eizo in Sweden cant give me any date at all for the grey,
it isnt even listed in the arrival list.

  • You said it allready. The 797 has some goodies for graphic workers. And it´s faster as the VA panel in the 778. So you can play fast games on it.
797 is for the perfect alround TFT. And the 778 is the perfect graphic TFT.

You have different electronics in both devices. IPS electronics are bit more expensive as the one for VA panels.
