Dear PRAD.DE
I have recently acquired the LG IPS235 monitor, factory calibrated. It comes with factory calibration report sheet showing grayscale deltas all below 1 and color temperature a notch above 6500K...
I then applied your RGB settings from the review and it came out obviously warmer than when I reset the monitor to default...I am puzzled because factory default mode and preset sRGB mode are exactly the same color-wise to my eyes, except brightness, while you found the sRGB mode rather bad and the factoy default mode rather useful...and they are not different at all except brightness...
Can you confirm or advise whether the FACTORY CALIBRATED settings become active when the monitor is reset to factory defaults and settings register as follows: mode > USER, menu/color > COLOR TEMP: "PRESET", PRESET: "WARM" )? I'd also like to know whether your out-of-the-box measurements are done by resetting the monitor and calibrating without touching any controls.
I'm asking because I'm reluctant to use your settings as they come from calibrating a different unit and are visibly warmer than default (which is supposed to be factory calibrated). What contrast setting did you find correct? (the monitor seems to shift color visibly when contrast is changed)...Would you recommend using the factory calibration or your settings...thanks...
Happy New Year!
