Problems choosing the right 120hz monitor, I need your opinions!

  • Hello! This seems to be my first post.

When I got my hands on a 120hz monitor the first time I thought "Man, I should get one when I've built a new computer!" Now would be the time to do that, but I feel like I've ran into a some sort of dilemma and need some insight and opinions from you guys.

I wanted a 3D/120hz monitor because I liked its smooth feel and comfort and, of course, I wanted it for new gaming experiences. The main point here is, whenever I'm at my computer I use it mainly for web, movies and video & picture processing and only occassional gaming. Image reproduction, as color and contrast for example, mean something to me in this manner. I'm a bit new to monitors, but after some research I found out that I may have to sacrifice a bit of image quality if I want a 120hz screen which is sad. From these monitors I'm still trying to find the one with the best image, not anything else.

For a week now I have researched these monitors and read many reviews about them. I have came into a conclusion that, for me:
    - BenQ monitors have many structural advatanges I like a lot but their image quality is not so good. (this for example)
    - Samsung monitors have a decent image quality (?) but they supply only few models which are pretty expensive. (this for example)
    - Asus monitors are getting my attention because their properties and specs seem to be ok in all areas. I'm not sure about the image quality though. (this for example)

So yeah, I'm mainly focusing on image reproduction, but I think it would be nice to have a monitor wich supporst nvidia 3D vision precisely, because i have a nvidia GPU after all (GTX 660Ti PE). And really, this monitor would be used by a hobbyist. Even though i like to mess with video and image a lot I'm not a professional. I can set my budget to 450€ (~600 bucks or 400£) without any pain, but I would like to buy the monitor from my home country (Finland) if possible. You can suggest any 3D monitor from any site but the prices may have a spread when comparing to where I live. The monitors included in this post are only some examples. I'm only trying to find the right one that suits me.

The question itself is: Which monitor would be the best for me?

If I missed some critical info you can tell me.
Also, I think some of you may think something like "TN-panels have horrible colors, don't even think about it" or "your GPU can't handle it", but I have decided to get one anyway and see for myself.

    Thanks in advance! :D
