I've got a 19" Viewsonic VP912b, to be honest, there isn't much about this panel. From what I absolutely know. . ., its a 12ms panel without any over drive functionality. It features a 6+2bit color schema (I think thats 16.2 mil colors). - I'd guess its a TN panel but I'm not sure. It has a matt finish.

My impressions: Viewing angles are slightly above average, I don't see any visible color banding (I read somewhere they use some special form of 6+2). The brightness could definitely be brighter (brightness is set to 100%, contrast is set to 50%). The colors are maybe a little bland, I could probably up the contrast.

I'm getting a new PC for home and transferring this old monitor to home, thus I'll need a new LCD for my main PC. I'm looking for something in the 20" range, (20-22inch specifically). Also, I'm looking for something new! This is the main reason why I'm posting, I saw the NEC 20WGX and HP LP2065. They are both very attractive monitors except for two things. The HP has been out since mid 2006, meaning its over a year and a half old. Shouldn't there be something out that is better by now? Also, the NEC also looks great, except that it has a glossy screen, which doubt I'll like.

What I'm going to be using this monitor for is generally gaming, put me somewhere between occasional gamer and hardcore gamer (meaning, I'd be willing to sacrifice some response time for color accuracy). I also program quite a big so office use is a general concern along with movies. So, I think I'm looking for a fast PVA or S-IPS.
In general: 45% gaming, 35% office work, 20% movies (I don't have a TV worth mentioning, so good movie viewing is still important even though I don't watch them very often, so if it was possible, i'd rank it about somewhere inbetween 20-30%, meaning, over 100% for a total :p).

So, can anyone suggest a newer model than the two listed above? Or are the NEC 20WGX and HP LP2065 still the best LCD even nowadays.

Tilt is required, rotation is highly preferred.

Also, thin panels are more attractive than oddly shaped ones (meaning, I like ViewSonic Professional Series, LG, and some Samsung models as far as looks).
Shops: Shipping to USA, newegg, microcenter, etc. I live in Dallas atm.
Looking to spend about $430 on the thing.
