    Thanks for the input!

So from the 19" (i'm def going with 19" now) the only models available here (Kroatien) are NEC 1980 an Sonny HX95, both costing about the same the Eizo s1910.(Eizo 778 is almost 800 Euro here, and you don't get it to inspect it as it's mail order) Nec uses IPS panel and the rewvies i've red about it are not great.

That leaves the Sonny with MVA panel, but there is scarecly any information about this model on the net, let alone a review of the product. I did find some topics about it in German on this forum, and while my German is far from good i could understand that people were not happy with it - illumination problem, ghosting, and apparently the x-black screen seems to worsen the eyestrain - not big incetive there either.

I guess i'll go with Eizo s1910. Would it work about the same if i borrowed some sort of calibrator and preset a few modes based upon the ussual light source around the screen in various stages of day - like morning, day and night?

Cheers for all the help gents.

The thing is, i need the best LCD for - the eyes. Proabaly due to a crappy monitor my eyesight has become disastorous (-9) so i don't want to make the same mistake, as i stare at the screen a lot. It didn't take much research to find out that basic specs are relatively useless, and as a commom layman when it comes to computers i don't know what's esseintial here.

I don't need the monitor for any particular purporse, just your average surfing and text reading most of times - with an occasional movie or a game inbeween. Basicaly, i want whats easiest on the eyes for someone who stares at the screen for long periods of time.

My budget is about 600 Euros. I see Eizo s1910 is popular here and it's in my budget allowance. Is that the best thing for me, even thou i can't go refresh@75 with DVI input? Is there a big diffrence between 19" normal monitors, and 20" widescreen as far as eyestrain goes?

    Thanks for any help.
