The two monitors above are quite different in some aspects, as a first point the Fujitsu P22W-5 is a 16:10 and 1680x1050, while the Viewsonic VP2365wb is 16:9 and 1920x1080, besides the difference in size (22" and 23" respectively).

Now... At the beginning I considered buying the VP2365wb, since I'm already a long time owner of a Viewsonic model, and its quality still shines after 12 (twelve!) years of intensive use -- from time to time someone enters my room and says "wow... never seen before such image quality..."
Reading some reviews of the VP2365wb I didn't find anyone that much excited about it though, and even the (german) review here shows some uncertainties on brightness level and color space, plus a moderate switching speed, in displaying games.

Then I started looking for an alternative, for a wide viewing angle and fast panel (say IPS).
I found stronger under the disappointing aspects (color space, speed) the P22W-5, but it has a slightly lower resolution, and adds some defects on picture scaling/interpolation.

The points I was looking for were the following:

    • Wide viewing angle, with good color response -- so IPS or PVA/MVA panels
    • 22-23" diagonal
    • Quality, reliability
    • A-lot-of-pixels times a-lot-of-pixels, for multi document (text/graphic) editing, being 90-95% of the work
    • Low/moderate cost
    • Some speed, for moderate/occasional gaming

I'd like to read then some impressions on use of these monitors, good or bad ones, along with some recommendation and/or advice...
