When I received my LG L1910B, it was the MVA version.. so completely unsuitable for gaming.. It was ghosting like hell.. So I took it back and got a (cheaper) LG L1720P instead (which is TN).. I think I'll wait one or two more years until I buy a real good LCD..

My product number is: LG L1910L-ALEUR (The L in the second part denotes the S-IPS panel as written in the xbitlabs review)arg.. Xbitlabs has the L1910P and not L1910B on their review.. I wonder what the difference is.. A little googling seems to imply that the L1910P is not available in america and that we have the B... I'll ask my supplier to see what version of othe P they have..

Maybe you check the cardboard box of the monitor at the shop (or ask the shopkeeper). The 8ms version (grey to grey the typical is 20ms (black-white-black)) has a big 8ms label on the front side.I think they are P-MVA too.. I've seen other P-MVA panel that claim 16ms .. but that was pure black to white.. They had the same problem for black to dark gray...

Your saying that there are L1910B with MVA panels or like L19??? with MVA panels?
The problem is that I can't get the 8ms... (it does not seem available in Canada yet)... So there is only the 16ms VP191.. So I wonder how the 16ms version is.. Is it unresponsive in dark hues like the regular MVAs ?
If the 8ms was available, I would have already bought one

I'm looking to buy a new LCD for my computer... I want to get a good balance between contrast, viewing angles and pixel response time. And I need a reliable brand, it has to be available in Canada, DVI is non-optional and at least 19". Based on the angle argument, I've excluded all TN panels. So I have to get at least a 19"... After reading tons of reviews, etc. I'm left with two models, either a S-IIPS, the L1910b (1920b and 1930b are not available here), or a P-MVA, the VP191b 16ms (the 8ms isnt available either)..
I'd like to know what are the experiences with the 16ms viewsonic, how bad is the ghosting compared to other 16ms monitors. I read a very positive review of the 8ms version on hardware.fr (french site), but I wonder how the 16ms version fares compared to the 8ms (GTG, typical 20ms). And how does it compare with a S-IPS, the xbitlabs articles () seem to imply that a 25ms S-IPS would behave much like a 16ms TN. And I was not able to find a single place in Montreal (canada), where I could actually see any of those LCDs! (would be much easier if I was able to try them!)
