I don't play games. Actually, I don't have any installed so I can't tell you that, but I watch movies and didn't notice any ghosting. Samsung has great overdrive so I'm pretty sure you won't see any ghosting in the games, too.

I contacted few Samsung distributers here in Croatia and one from Serbia. They all said it has true 8bit s-pva panel. I also contacted Samsung support and they said the same. I'm 100% sure it's 8bit panel with RT about 8-12ms, and the viewing angle is also excellent so try to conclude which kind of panel it has! I had 970, sold it, and bought 971p few days ago. Our Croatian distributer gave me 3 years warranty on every pixel defect (including death and bright pixels) which I liked also very much!

It has s-pva. If you compare this monitor with 970, you can see truly difference. 971p displays better gradients (little banding is presence but if you set up contrast and brightness right, you can's see any bandings) with no dithering, but also has a slower RT which is not 6ms as it says in declaration. 971p is excellent monitor but I think it could have better ergonomy (swiveling, mounting on the wall etc.) I prefer it in white glossy color.

I agree to that, but I'm from Croatia and I'm happy if I could find a store with Samsung 971p on the shelf :-), no way I'll find vp930 working in the store.
Thank you for advices, I think I'll buy 971p. I read almost all reviews on the net, including Slovenian, Serbian, Bosnien, German and all english web pages, and people are generally satisfied with monitor, only have complaints that this model (971p) doeasn't have swiveling (like 970p does) and that they see ghosts in some games. But I can live with that, because I was working on Dell S-PVA matrice with RP of 25ms and it was excellent monitor for me, theb I purchased Dell with MVA (only better contrast than previous one) which was incredible also but both were 17''. Now, I'll need 19'' so I think Samsung 971p will be next week on my desk. If it has RP like my Dells, I'll be more than satisfied. And Dell had 25ms RT in declaration, but this Samsung has 6ms (wow!). And ghositng? It can only approve that Samsung hasn't done the same mistake like 970p model when they've put 6bit panel and included dithering to get 16,7 millions of colors instead 16,2.

I found ViewSonic VP930 and it seems to be very good monitor. Can you please compare me VP930 with Samsung 971p? VP930 uses AUO panel so it must be 24bit?
Philips 190P7ES isn't in the game anymore.
Dilemma is now ViewSonic VP930 and Samsung 971p?
    Thank you!

    1. How can I be sure that Samsung put 8bit matrice in 971p?
    2. And how can 8bit matrice have 6ms response time?
    3. How big is deficiency that 971p doesn't have OSD and has no buttons on the frame?
    4. When will prad.de make complete proffesional review of this monitor?
    Thank you!

I'm not pressed between the two but I was looking for monitor which has absolute warranty for any kind of pixel defects. I was considering ViewSonic VP930 as well, but it's my first time to hear for that company.
Is there any way to find out if Samsung had put 8bit matrice in 971p model?
I don't want to pay 400€ for monitor which has dithering problems if you can understand me.

Can anyone suggest me which matrice gives better picture quality: PVA, MVA or P-MVA. I have had monitor with MVA matrice which was excellent for me (17'') but now I'm planning to purchase 19'' with P-MVA matrice (Philips 190P7ES) so I wanto to know what to expect?
    Thank you in advance!

that sounds goog for me although MVA would be better :-)...
and final question, is there any better solution of LCD I shoud consider before buying 1707fpv? can you recommend me some other model in that price range which can be better?
    Thank you!

I can see on prad.de that model 1707FP (without "v") has the "TN" panel technology (matrice) but I wasn't able to find out what kind of panel (matrice) does 1707FPV has? I supose that it must have PVA or MVA panel because it is 50 euros more expensive, has better contrast, brightness, viewing angel and longer response time (25ms). Model without "v" (1707FP) has response time 8ms and the model with "v" (1707FPV) has response time 25ms.
So, can anyone find out which matrice does 1707FPV use?
    Danke schön :-)!
