  • Need advise to choose my first TFT

    I bought Samsung 940BW.
    To be honest... I hope to get used to it, but this thing is sooooo bright... even now my brightness is set to 0 and contrasto to 50, gamma to 0,80.
    Viewing angles are acceprable for a TN. I can compare it to Philips 170X6FB and in my opinion 940BW 160 degrees a wider.
    I actually like the how the fonts look... the reason might be the bigger dot (pixel) but fonts seem bolder yet clear... :)
    Samsung 940BW was reported to have backlight leaking problem and I can confirm it... it is obvious on the top and on the right side of the screen and may look annoying in some darker games...
    The colours... well the colours suck! :) that's compared to my previous CRT Sony... on one hand I'm dissapointed that I did not bought *VA panel but on the other.... this TN is much cheaper than Belinea 102035 for example. I almost forgot to say - no visible ghosting with 940BW :) but it's not surprising for a 4ms g-to-g.
    Finally, I really hope that in 2-3 years *VA, *IPS or whatever new panels may be produced, will be faster and cheaper, and that I could afford 20-21" real 16,7 Mio colours display :) (and a VGA to pump into it)

    First post, pardon my english :)


    I plan to buy a TFT in some days...
    and I decided to go "on budget"... I asked the same question on Widescreen Gaming Forum but no reply... people are talking about 20, 21, 24"... perhaps not much people are familiar with what I'm asking for ?( Somehow I feel I have to explain that I thought of buying a P-MVA panel (Belinea 102035) but my monthly income is ~300 Euro (which is higher from the average in my country ;( if that is something to be proud of...) so I decided to wait 2-3 years with a budget TN panel... After that who knows I may buy even a 24" S-IPS ;)


    But my choise now is limited to:


    W19-1 is PRAD.DE recomended but is TCO99 for some reason... it also has large ventilation openings that might be a problem with insects...
    940BW is TCO03, has some backlight leaking problem... and all the other seems ok...


    I've read lots of reviews and still cann't deceide which one to choose... so I need your recomendation


    EDIT: I almost forgot... let's say I use my PC mostly for games ... s.th. like:
    40% games
    30% movies
    20% office
    10% internet browsing


    And one more... I suppose my 7300GT 128MB DDR3 should have no problem with custom resolution like 1440x900?
