    Hi user907,

I recently bought the S2031W and I admit, I'm not very satisfied with it concerning Color-Banding. I downloaded the eizo-test-tool that you have actually posted here.

    I have made sure that:

    - I'm not using any color profile

    - I reseted the monitor, as you said

    - and I ran the tool that you preferred "eizo-test9.exe" from EIZO

And fortunately, I've got a SLR-Camera which is able to capture that banding, that I've seen on the screen, the banding-effect was not visible, as you said before in blue, nor in violett, but in white and other colors.
But, take a closer look to the pictures that I've made in a almost completly darkened room with the Pentax istDS. The images speak a clear language I think. In brighter regions on the right, you don't notice the effect but in the left region.

Please tell me if I did something wrong so far calibrating the monitor. This banding is annoying, especially for me as I'm working a lot with graphics like 2D/3D images. But it's even more annyoing when I think about the fact, that I had to spent about 500€ for a monitor which isn't a leap ahead other much cheaper models from other vendors....

Last thing I want to mention, are the diffuse light areas in each corner of the screen when turning complete into black. Is this supposed to be the backlight? The effect is also a pain in the ass, especially on dark images :P. My old Medion 17" TFT(TN-Panel) , has also this areas, but MUCH smaller and they are spanned along the screen-frame where they don't disturb the black that much as on the Eizo.

Thank you for any hints and/or answers
