Hello all, my German is not very good, so I'm posting in English, I hope its not a problem...

I recently bought this monitor (Rev. 1, serial number 802XXXXXXX) and while I find it very good and have no dead pixels and minimal backlight bleeding, I have a problem with color uniformity...

Specifically, when viewing a full grey screen there is a blue-ish tint to the leftmost part of the screen and on the right side there is a yellow-ish tint.

This is not noticeable under normal usage but with Photoshop it becomes obvious and is distracting.

Is there anything I can do about this? Is this color shift normal for this panel? Should I try having the monitor replaced?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello! First-time poster here.

I recently purchased the LG W2600HP-BF 26" S-IPS monitor, based on the generally good reviews, thinking that even if I got a Rev.1 model I could have the firmware upgraded to Rev. 2.

    I ended up getting a Feb '08 Rev.1 model.

I really like this monitor, it is a little hard to calibrate properly but the image quality is impressive and I really appreciate the large viewing angles.

However, I noticed something yesterday while using some fullscreen color patterns to calibrate it.

When white or grey (or grey-ish colors) is displayed full screen, there is a subtle yellowish tint on the right part of the screen, its as if the color temperature changes across the panel. This 'color shift' horizontally across the screen is not noticeable on most other colors.

Its very subtle and a couple of friends who tried to look for it could not notice it.

I do, however and while on general everyday use it's not bothersome, just the fact that its there annoys me... :/

My question is: is this caused by non-uniform backlighting? Or is it something else?

My screen does exhibit backlight bleeding similar to prad's review test sample (the 3 'clouds' on the corners) but it doesn't bother me in the least, all of LG's S-IPS panels that I've used exhibited some form of bleeding.

Can I request for my monitor to be replaced based on this problem? Or am I being excessively picky and its all within 'accepted tolerances'?

    Thanks in advance!
