  • My subjective impressions Foris FS2333-BK vs Foris FS2434-BK

    Hi everyone,


    My German is not yet so good so I am posting here in the English section. I had the opportunity yesterday to test the two gaming monitors from Eizo, side by side. I do not have any professional colorimetric equipment so this is just what I could observe with my eyes. So, here goes:


    Color:
    - Both monitors tested in User1 default color mode, with EcoView off.
    - The FS2333 has better colors, period. More vibrant, more alive. Also it seems to me, more brightness.
    - FS2434 has more blue (which for me is annoying), and temperature-wise comes similar to my LG IPS235P. Also, compared to FS2333 the image seems harsher to the eyes.


    Viewing angles:
    - Again, FS2333 is better. The IPS panel of the newer model seems just worse.


    Flicker:
    - Tested with my Lumia 800 camera: indeed FS2434 "flicker-free" technology kind of works (you still see some shimmer on the camera but not the horizontal lines moving upwards)
    - FS2333 shows no flicker at brightness over 70-80, and it has never been a problem for me anyway. I prefer better colors. Some people are bothered by PWM dimming though.


    Build quality:
    - The FS2333 seems more solid, based on the fact that on the FS2434 the plastic on the back tends to bend more easily.
    - Both monitors had no bad pixels or scratches or any artifacts on the screen area.
    - They share the same remote (you can use the remote of one with the other) and the same pivot stand with 340 degrees.
    - Front bezel of the EV2434 is kind of ugly (subjective impression)


    Unfortunately no more testing is possible as I have returned the Eizo FS2434. In case you think I forgot something, feel free to ask.
