Eizo S-1910-K monitor : DVI vs VGA connection

  • I'm going to buy an Eizo S-1910-K monitor and I am addressing you for a technical advice.

My system is a Toshiba Satellite laptop with an integrated GeForce4 420 Go video card, which has no DVI output.
So, the monitor will be connected via the VGA analog cable. ;(

My intended purpose of the monitor includes :
    80% Office and Internet
    10% Video
    10% Games

So, my top priority is text clarity, depth of black and absence of "ghosting" while scolling white text on black background! 8o

Do you think that connecting the monitor via the VGA analog cable I will experience any loss of text or image quality and especially regarding the parameters mentioned above?
Is there any difference in image quality on this monitor between VGA and DVI connection, worthing a video card upgrade?

    Thank you in advance!
    Happy new year ! :P

  • It won't affect depth of black and absence of "ghosting", but it will impair text clarity and overall focus to some extent depending on the signal quality of your Toshiba notebook's VGA output.
If getting a new system is no option, try to find a high-quality magnetically shielded VGA cable to minimize the negative effects of signal loss/distortion.

    have fun
    and HNY, you too!

  • Thank you for the feedback, tetsuo!

Do you think that the VGA cable included is of low quality?
How can I estimate the quality of any VGA cable? :(
Do gold plated connectors improve image quality?
