Eizo S1910: little confusion about specifications!

  • Dear ones,

I've read Prad.de's review about Eizo S1910 and I'm quite impressed. I'm thinking of buying it, but in many sites (including this) it is said to have a 12ms response time, in other sites (including eizo.de) is said to have a 8ms response time.
The same about lightness. Some sites say 250 cd/m2, some others 280 cd/m2.

I know that these are little differences, but I want to see clear...

    Thank you! :D

  • Welcome to the forum :)

There are two different versions of the S1910: a new, and an old version.

The new version has 8ms grey-to-grey and 280cd/m² while the old version has 12ms and 250cd/m².

It's easy to figure out which version a S1910 is. The new version was produced in november 2005 or later; the older version before november 2005. The manufacturing date can be seen on a label at the back of the monitor.

Well, I've found a very good deal on an online shop I trust, and they've only the old version (12 ms, 250 cd/m2).

I wouldn't like to search for another shop, since they also do bad pixels pre-checking and they're quite affordable.

So, is there a relevant difference between the two version? Can I buy the second one?

Thank you for your kind and prompt answer! =)

  • Are you sure that it is the old version because almost every shop is selling the new version but did not update their article description.

You can also buy the older version. I would say there is no big difference.
