Viewsonic VP171, Samsung 172T or Acer AL732....17' TFT ?

  • I'll buy a spare 17' TFT for use in dual monitor setup with my Dell 2000FP 20,1' TFT.

I'll mostly use the 17' TFT for games and netsurfing and has to choose between the 3 above.

What would you go for - samsung 172T is a PVA panel with slower repsonse time (25 ms) compared to the two others - but maybe the 172T has better overall image quality.

The Viewsonic has only 140 degrees viewing angle - but besides this seems to be a good screen.

The Acer seems to be the best all rounder....what should I go for ?

  • What is your price limit?

The Samsung 17xT models contain a PVA-Panel with a wide viewing angle and high contrast rates. The TN-Panels are faster in average, but the colour quality is not as good as form PVA, MVA or IPS panels. In 17" I would look to an Eizo L565 its successor L575 with Hiachti IPS-Panel. Also the Samsung can be good at gaming, but for 3D-shooters at first I would test it, because everybody has got a different impression.
