Wow, great site. It seems in the US do we not only get the new products on time our forums are also behind. It leaves me laughing at my country yet again...
After hours of perusing through the English portions of your site and others I am left with a similar question to many of your posts. My case is a little different, but the need is the same.
Basically my computer use is almost 80% internet surfing, with a heavy-addictive amount of time spent on Unreal Tournament 2004. Needless to say I too am looking at an LCD and have to come to a conclusion without seeing any because the collection in local stores is something we could scoff at. The LCD will not be used for movies, I sit directly in front of it so off axis viewing isn't a huge concern but obviously I am scared of having too limited of an angle, and color accuracy I could give up as long as the colors are consistent.
I almost pulled the trigger and ordered the Iiyama E481s--$459 without making this note, but realize that many others are probably wondering the same as Totamec has outlined that this should fit the bill for almost all but the most avid gamers. My concern of course is not that I am an avid gamer, but the game I do play is very intensive.
Basically here are my choices:
Supercheap option:
Benq FP931 $350
New TN Panel?
Benq FP937s $420--regretably none of the reviews on your site are in English and I do not speak German so I was unable to read any of them. This monitor isn't really available in the US yet, but we can order it from a Canadian company and have it shipped to me.
New PVA Panel?
Samsung 913 $no price in US yet, but I could wait
Iiyama E481s $459
NEC 1960nxi $569
I am not in a hurry, but would like to purchase in the next couple of months at most. It seems from trying to read the German reviews and posts that this topic has been covered, but not in English. From reading or personal experience does anyone have a direction that they would recommend that I go?
My gut feeling right now has me battling between the Iiyama and the FP937s.
Thanks for the help.
