Hi,
I am not talking about non TN monitors: in the last 2 months been seeking for a
new monitor and after seeing about 10 connected to my laptop, not Monitor
nets and bought 5 (3 was blind bought online based on great user
reviews), i concluded that today is even more difficult to find a good (i
am spoiled by my last) monitor because i am searching for a 22" and in
2006 i searched a lot also but that time only max 19". I comproved this
theory because every time i saw a bigger monitor in the same series for example
Asus VH222h and then Asus VH242H and Asus VW246H etc i saw a mix of loss of
vivid colors, loss of vibrant colors, accurate colors etc. I think that this is
related to that the bigger the monitor more difficult is to get a quality
contrast.
The 2 monitors that i bought after seeing was 2 premium Samsung´s, the first
one i let me go with the enthusiasm and lack of experience and the 2º was
really good according to the actual offer in 22"´s but it hurt my
eyes, i couldn´t game for more then 1 hour!
Now my search includes non TN models and i am willing to spend until 1500 eur
(1650 dollars) but preferably not so much,
principal use is gaming.
It seems that the Prad tested (and in the Prad gaming recommended list) Acer
B223W is somewhat like what i am looking, almost accurate colors game wise,
solid and vivid colors and image uniformity but in Europe i can only find the
Acers: Acer.de configurations: B223WGymdr B223WGwmdr both EnergyStar 20,7
W, Acer.fr configurations B223PWymdr and B223WGOymdrin, no B223WB but in
the specs:
- B223WB: Energy Star® On: 30W, Off: 0W, Standby: 0.7W
- B223WG: Energy Star® On: 20.7W, Off: 0W, Standby: 0.46W
- while the Acer B223w tested by Prad as a operation power consumption
of max. 65 which is confusing, what should i get?
The Alienware OptX AW2210 is another one in my
consideration ,
but i don´t think i can stand the back light bleeding. If you see this link and
Acer B223w Prad test you will see how my taste is.
Another one that I like (which for me is the 1st
one in the spot on colors in the computer graphics department)
but I think that has exaggeration in some colors
In non TN models i am considering the Eizo S2100 (in the Prad gaming
recommended list but I wish it was wide screen and newer) and the Dell
2209WA ( but i read very negative things about the lighting).
Any help or more suggestions?
