Some questions (I hope they re not already answered and I m only too stupid to read):
Is there an "inofficial" release date ?
Is it worth waiting for the 1980i, or will the difference to the 1960NXi (or any other given TFT) be so small that that would be wasted time ?

Let´s start with the differnece between the 481 and the 1980sxi. The crystal-effect at the 481 is much more stronger in m.o. then the one from the 1980nxi. After a working day I have to conclude, that the crystal effects only shows-up with some colours.
Gaming: I remember the 481 as a good gaming device, but not perfect in colours. Here is the NEC much better.
In my opinion is the 481 a pure gamer TFT and not that well for semi-grafic-workers like me. Once again a pro for the 1980i. But it´s still not an Eizo

In Italy no shop still talk about new Nec models.
I hope that the 1960NXi entry price will be around 700 euro like in Germany.
Now you can already found the LG L1910P for 680 euro.
So can be other manufacturers are forced to make similar price reductions... and the 1980i go in the 900 area (?)
Other panel and electronics? I don´t know. But a pure LG product is not 680E worth.

If you really don´t play, the new 20" MVA will be a good choice.
But: as soon as you want to play a bit, order the 1960nxi or the 481.

You want an Eizo with the 19'' Nec panel inside.
Now I'm very curious to know the new 19'' 16ms AUO panel real speed...
...and the monitors that will adopt it.
