About Philips 200P4?

is there any opinion and/or review about 20" LCD Philips 200P4?

My opinion: it looks like they used the LG 16ms Panel which is also used in the NEC 2080ux+ or VP201. For players it´s the best panel on the market right now. The older versions of the panel has a problem, we call it: REBK- STRIPS. I will search a link of a foto, that you can build your own opinion of the problem.

Well, the point is that my colleague was asking me for 20-21'' tft for office use (no DTP, no games) and maybe some DVD movie. I guess it is not so bad for this purpose even if we are talking about the new series only, cause the notorius problems on old series. Any suggestion for this purpose?

Anyway....Now i would ask you something more interesting for me, about what to choose at the moment as best 20-21'' tft, i am particularly interested in NEC 2080UX+ and IIYAMA Prolite H540S.
What do you think about them, is there any interesting outsider between them? (of course the budget is limited around 1300-1400 eur)

The 2080ux+ is a good device for players and office users. So why not? The price is around 1300E and that´s ok for the 2080ux+ - but the new ones!

An alternative ist he VP201 -same panel, same electronics - for around 1000E. But wait a bit to buy this one cause they have the same problems as the old 2080ux+ at the moment.

The 540 is great. Good for games, the 2080ux+ is maybe a bit better, and for grafic works it´s perfect. But isn´t it oversized for the things your colleague wants to with it? I think so.

Just take a look on the VP201 and if you like the design, wait 3-4weeks and buy it

ahaaa.....yes, you are absolutely right, that is oversized for my colleague but actually it's my fault cause i didn't explain the situation so well, not so clear, sorry.

My colleague is looking for a not so expensive 20" tft for office purpose, and some rare dvd, nothing more, other issue is about Nec and IIyama or maybe Viewsonic as you told me cause that is for my use!

So they are 2 different choices.

Anyway i'll keep on my mind about what you said on Viewsonic.

You know, i've decided on 20" tft cause the disappointing news about Nec 19" 1980SXi and its panel.

I get a new 1980sxi by the next days, it will be the final version. Hope it will be better, but I got no hope at all.

For your colleague: what´s about the Fujitsu-Siemens S19? Not a players display, but not that expensive and really good looking.

You should keep and eye on the VP, stay with that.

I hope so much you'll be positive surprised by the new 1980sxi, i really hope it so much and of course i'll stay tuned about your impression on it. I thought that was my ideal tft at the moment but with a Nec s-ips and not with an LG panel

About the suggestion for my colleague yes, i was forgotting Fujitsu-Siemens S19, i think this is a good choice.

You told me to wait VP201 but which kind of improvements they've made on it and how it is possible to identify a new one from an old one when you buy it?

That´s the funny game. Right now, we don´t know the exactly serialnr. of the new Vp201 without the typical problems.

Do you know the REBK-streaks?
