Under condition of "+ PVA-Panel (Override)" as he mentioned there is not wide spectre of offers. 190P7 is really not good for gaming. If he will not insist on S-PVA a good choice for gaming is VX2025WM.
Sorry for english :O

Eizo S1931 oder S1910
-
I returned this unit back. Due to backlight defect - flickering :O
-
Wo möglich ist Eizo zu kaufen ?
Ist das möglich im Nettetal ? Ich will es sehen bevor kaufen.
-
I decided to return unit back after backlight defect (flickering).
Also I noticed that on standby unit utters faint high pitching sound which can be perceived in the silent room, but at distance 50cm it disappears. Might be annoying for sensitive people.
-
Arbeitet S2100 ganz geräuschlos?
Hochfrequentes Geräusch, Brummen oder Summen ?
-
My humble opinion is that Eizo's overdrive electronic is more precise. You will never get so nice picture as on Eizo. It is a different story.
-
Wir haben 3 Dell 1907 im Office. Sie haben Backlight-Flackern. Das is nicht dithering, aber CCFL defekt.
-
White aura can be seen, but unfortunately it is given by the overdrive technology. You cannot avoid this effect with VA panel.

changed back

- Installation -
It is a little bit tricky, you must put panel into basement and tighten it with screw. Two men are better to do this.
Take care about this screw, it is easy to forget
I did not find it until stand looked funny unstable.
It has safety fuse (screw) to secure foot while transporting. It looks funny, because it is a hook.
- Looks -
Grey plastics may look cheap, but rocky solid, do not allow any eye disturbance as in case of silver bezel. Black should be probably much more better.
7 buttons on the right side:
Auto adjust, input < >, selection < >, enter (ok), switch
Power control LED has decent green colour, in standby a decent orange. Switch button is in fact underlighted with this LED.
There is no master power switch, as known at P19-2.
It has automatic brightness selection depending on the room light - really interesting, I will put a report after stress test.- Fabrication quality -
Foot stands very solid, there are no any movements during typing, even if you kick to the table (happens often for me) Pivot and height is hold pretty fine.
- Picture -
It has no dithering, at least not noticable as in case of Samsung 940BF and others (TN and so on), it is pure 8bit. Picture is stable and text is very clear.
Contrast is amazing, black is really black. You will not notice if unit is turned on or off. Litle blur can be seen in fast scenes but its common in this technology.Brightness can be set very low, fine for eyes.
Colours are good, I edited a couple of photos and for pure amateurs it is good choice. Not for graphicians of course. When you set low contrast there is a visible picture quality degradation, but common only.
Panel is pretty fast, during scrolling there is no ghosting, movies are excellent, I think faster than VP930, but it is just personal feeling.
- Illuminance -Solid, corners are not lighter.
- Pixels -
I have one dead subpixel, red on white, black on blue. But not noticable until you're searching it.
- Operation -
No noise (buzzing, humming, high pitching), turned off or on.
- Controls -
OSD is good, but when you're changing brightness or contrast you must use input buttons, instead of select buttons, sometimes annoying and easy to forget.
SmartManage does not offer much comfort. There is brightness, contrast and RGB settings only available under settings ~ details in monitor settings. Long to find, I would prefer quick launch icon as viewsonic has. It forces you to use rather buttons than control application.
- Inputs -
It comes with two DVI-I inputs. That's good idea, you do not need to run your second machine on analog.
- Angles -
Moving on horizontal line black becomes more grey and grey. Angles are good, but it is still P-MVA only. Specification gives 178/178 but I think S-PVA has still better angles. But you can see whole space without colour degradation even you move normally during the work with the head down and up and left to right
- USB hub -
Do not think about this. Unit has 2 USB ports, but they're hardly accessible. If you have two DVI cables connected it is impossible to plugin anything. Cables covers space around ports. USB hub is useless.
- Comparison -
If I compare picture with others I saw, it stands with P19-2 on the same level.
- Rating -
I will try, it is just my personal feeling, so take it with reserver and do not beat me for this
I think ++ rating does not allow much space for decisions, many lcds ends as sehr gut, but I do not think they're.
A lot of features are pretty good for what they're and where they're equipped. It is hard to rate colours, because although pretty good, it is still not 10bit or 14bit colour space as Eizo offers.

Sehr Gut
I will edit it after more time of testing, photos will come soon.
For that price (330 euro including 19% MwSt. and shipping) a good choice I think. This review is based on two 190P7EG units.
-
It has no noticable dithering at all.
I cannot see any picture disturbance. I have no tools to proove this technically, but I've seen S1910 (10 on mark) and VP930 (5 on mark) and 190P7EG has 8 picture quality on 10 mark.
It has one dead subpixel, but I can live with that.
I think since personal feelings of colour quality and picture stability this panel is pure 8 bit.

I ordered it today. Tomorrow it will came
We will definitely see

They do not

There is not detailed specification about S-PVA nad P-MVA. Nobody knows exact implementation. The only one thing known is basic principle of (M/P)VA panels.
Fujitsu created MVA, as soon as they put it onto market, Samsung came with a copy - PVA
Since these times all is top secret
-
Nobody knows exact difference between P-MVA and S-PVA
Many think these technologies are in fact same. You know that PVA is a copy of MVA. Unfortunately Samsung usually uses dithering, sad I know. It is up to manufacturer how he uses panel. It is more cheaperMVA and PVA can produce 8bit by their native. I read here somebody wrote "S-PVA uses spatial dithering and P-MVA uses temporal dithering". But that's not true at all. It is mixing up two facts - panel that can produce 8bit colours and electronic. Dithering and FRC is not a feature of panel at all. Strongly detach these two things.
You cannot say "it's MVA it is 6bit" or "it is MVA it uses dithering". Let me say little examples:
VX2025WM = P-MVA 8bit
VP2030 = P-MVA 8bit
P19-2 = S-PVA 8bit970P = S-PVA 6bit
VP930 = P-MVA 6bitIn one time only you can be trully sure - models equiped with TN are always 6bit. Also in retrieving facts about 6b or 8b in case of VA panels some people usually mistake colour banding (nice example is Dell 2407 with banding issue, fixed in A02 revision, caused people to think it's 6b).
I want 19" 8bit without silver bezel, is that too much I want ?
Nono, your english is good enough
and I think you're right we are talking about same thing - we cannot trust manufacturer's specification
-
Sad but true
Samsung is a manufacturer of PVA and 970P carries S-PVA panel. That was a big surprise for everyone when realized it is 6bit panel.
To proove that see Samsung's specification:
Difference between MVA and PVA is minimal and the main point is which electronic is used to drive that panel. That's why PVA/MVA panel should be in fact 6bit.
You can achieve faster response if you use 6bit instead of 8bit. Difference in angles is very little, I had VP930 (P-MVA) and S1910 (S-PVA) on my desk and I realized that angles were really good for each of them. Also I had a chance to see VX2025WM (P-MVA) and its angles were pretty good.
When you check this:
You will clearly see there isn't any MVA panel with 16.2 specification matching 970P specification. As a Samsung's flag-ship of lowend it is carried with PVA LTM190E4 (971P) and by its precedessor (970P).Colour depth noted for panels is tha maximum colour depth that can be achieved by appropriate electronic. Dithering is not a feature of panel but electronic.
-
Sometimes is cheaper to use 6bit, electronic need not to be strong enough. 8bit is much more expensive.
There is a lack of 8bit offers
970P is S-PVA and it is 6bit
In fact most of Samsungs are 6bit.
