A friend with eyes problem are looking for a 19'' LCD with low brightness regulation (darken image) like a CRT can do.
Someone know if the new Samsung SyncMaster 193p has this feature?
Thanks!

I just looked around a bit and cannot find that the 193p has got this function. Sorry. The old 181T had this function.
Sorry for my poor english...
I would mean, if the minimum brightness value (regulated with MagicTune) is enough dark.
Because some LCD monitor remains too much bright also with 0% brightness.
Thanks
Zitatif the minimum brightness value (regulated with MagicTune) is enough dark.
???
Aaah, now I got you.
The screen is quit dark in the zero-regulation. But the Eizo TFTs are much more better in this point.
Thanks Totamec
I think a person with sight problems must look the monitor with his own eyes... but this can help his choice.
The 193P's deepest black can be as dark as 40cd/m2, which is very dark under normal viewing circumstances. Unless that person needs to watch the monitor in a darkroom, that is. The upcoming Eizo L768 will be able to produce an even darker black, but you won't be able to notice the difference. After all, you should stick to VA (PVA/MVA/AVS) panels and avoid (S-)IPS or TN panels since the latter are the ones with greyish blacks.
He needs that "the whole image" is very dark because he not tolerate normal LCD brightness... like a vampire with daylight...
He has had a bad experience with a Philips 170s4.
The Eizo's "Gain" OSD control allows to regulate single R,G,B level until obtain a totally black image.
I have used a L767 for a year and I never noticed this option...
