Best 19" TFT? 910T vs L768 and some more...

  • I have planned on buying one of these TFTs.
What I want is the best (but not most expensive)
19". If I had to choose Screen Quality or GAMES then
I will choose Screen Qulity over GAMES.
I will do little photoshopping, some CAD & CAM and some gaming
    mixed both strategy and FPS.

    Which one to buy?

Samsung 193P: Have read that it doesnt have good adjustment-
hardware settings for the screen only software = no good,
and the 20ms compared with L768´s 25 shouldnt affect gaming so much right? 770 euro

    * Eizo L768
Seems like the best one. All good except the 25ms.
Its enought for me I think. 880 euro

Eizo L788, another 220 euros more for this one
isnt worth it right for some more functions and USB hub over L768?

    * Samsung 910T, If I choose this it is beacuse of its price
220 euros less than L768. Seems to have functions similiar
to the L768 only lower contrast 1:800 (some says 1:1000)
The 910T do have some buttons that allow some kind of
hardware adjustments, but I dont know if it allows same as
    the L768 settings. 660 Euro

    Dark Horse...?
    Eizo L797. Sacrificing contrast, 450:1 for a faster 20ms.
Is it worth it? Maybe 450:1 is enough for me little photoshopping.
And the 20ms is better for CAD and games?
Hopes the price is not to much over the L768 (not realesed in Sweden).
Or is this just a better 193P with Eizo brand or should I wait for this?

    Conclusion...?
If you recommend the L768 is it beacuse it is much better than 910T ?
Does it justify the price over 910T. Because in Sweden the price diffrence for thse two is 220 euro.

  • Hi,

give me a budget and a price list of ur swedish dealer please.

First: Samsung devices are ok, but not the first choice for qualified users. My opinion.

Second: Can you give me some hints what are you doing most? 50% CAD, 20% Office, 30% Games?

Third: Do you have enough room on your desk for a 2 screen solution?

A small hint: the responsetime is not that important. The electronic and the panel is much more important for the quality& responsetime of the screen.

  • Max Budget 1100 Euro = 10 000 SEK but I dont want to burn it all on TFT
    unless it is worth it.

Here are two retail pricelists from e-dealers.
[No VAT added, another 25% on the listed price]

E-Dealer with VAT added but not so many TFTs:
    |1087|19&Sort=bymfr

I use it the TFT for this, I am a student so I:
50% Surf the web and emails
30% School jobs + Word & Exceling + some Photoshopping
    10% Cad
    10% Games alla typer.

    What do you mean with?
"Third: Do you have enough room on your desk for a 2 screen solution?"
    ?? 2 screen solution? ??

Do you mean my XP desktop ? I have now a 19" CRT @ 1152*864
Or do you mean my physicall desktop, I have a big table for the TFT

When you say Samsung is fine, maybe the 910T is enough for me
I dont think I am a very qualified user.
Is it only the more Pro-User that needs the L768 maybe
then I can spare my wallet 220 euro and have a 910T.

Is is the same panel and electronic in 910T and L768
Or do you have other Dark Horses that will suit me better ?

    Thanks.

  • 9 SEK = 1 euro
    10 000 SEK = 1100 euro (approx)

  • What I´m thinking about is, one screen for games and one for "working".

So I would buy a fast 17" screen like the VP171 and for working a 19" like the Eizo.

But if you say, I don´t like to have two screens ony my desk, you should take the FSC P19-1A. The screen is simple an allround device and just perfect for you. It has a fast panel, a very nice electronic and the price is fair.
I´m not a big fan of LG. But the price of the 1920 is really good. The device has the same panel as the FSC, but the outward looks much better.

  • Thanks for the answers.

Hmmm... you recommended a Eizo L767 instead if I was going to buy
two TFTs? Why not a 768 they only differ around 60 euro ?
...money issue if I buy two TFTs?

I saw the LG 1920 have a newer and ugglier (outlook) brother
1930 at the same price as the 1920.
Is the 1930 basically same panel and electronic but newer and with "E-engine"
    compared with 1920 ?

    Should I choose 1930 over 1920?

I think I have come down to a decision soon.
    The only left are now:

    LG1920 / 1930 vs Eizo L797 / L768

Am I right on this conclusions?

    * The LGs have better generall performance ( Work, Photos and Games )
And 195 euros cheaper compared with L768

    * The Eizos are for qualified users with more "qualified" wallets...
They have better screen quality (colour, contrast, photos ....etc)

  • The 1930 has an other panel as the 1920. The 1930 is mainly for grafic workers, the 1920 for allround users.

The price of the LG is very nice. In relation of price and performence is the LG good. But you should not spend more as SEK 5000+VAT.

What you are saying about the Eizo is absolutly right.

But let me ask you one thing: why don´t you want to buy 2 TFTs? As I wrote one for games (the VP) and one for working (Eizo). Ok, you need more space on your desk but what are the pros:
    1. you have 2 perfect screens for your needings
    2. you have still some money of your budget left
    3. 2 screens are simply cool 8)
    4. you can do several things at the same time

  • Hello Totamac

First I want to thank you for all the answers you have given me.

    Ref:ww.inwarehouse.se/searchResult.aspx?Category=DAPL&Filter1=1|1087|19&Sort=bymfr

I have found another e-dealer that have
the following modells of FSC TFTs

    B19
    P19-1
    P19-1A
    P19-1S
    S19-S
    C19-1

I found that maybe a TFT with height adjustment is better in the long run than a LG with nice outlook. And the a white fram may also be better than black frame.

This store´s prices is also just 45 euro more for the FSC compared with the LG (comparing L920P and P19-1). App prices have VAT included

What I wonder now is which of the following FSC TFT-mons are the best allround TFTs? You said before thath the P19-1 have the same inside as L920P.
But how about P19-1S. The S-type seems to have same specifications and
a TCO-03 mark. Is that all the difference ? A new year modell for 2004 of the P19-1?

Are any of the others FSC TFTs I mentioned better allround TFTs?
Such as the P19-1A seems to be in the premium line to but only with some more "design" on it. The others dont have P so they must be not as good as P-modells right?

  • The ones you mentioned differ in the used panel, outward-frame or the electronic.

The best allround TFT is still the P19-1A (exactly this one!).

In germany, the P19-1S has a MVA panel which is not that well for games or animationworks. The IPS panel in the P19-1A is much more better in this points.

You are welcome ;) Just give me your questions and I´m gone help you as far as I can. But I want a consideration: tell your friends about prad.de please!

  • Sorry to disturb you again Totamec

Probably one of the last questions before I buy a TFT.

Saw that another reg.user (Krong, Playboy as Avatar)
recommend these 3 TFTs as allround in this thread
    "Advice about LCD monitor"

:Iiyama e481s, LG 1910b or Fujitsu Siemens P19-1a.

Then I saw that the price for both of the LGs
is quite much cheaper than FSC P19-A

    470 euro LG L1915S 19" TFT TCO-99
    500 euro LG L1910B 19" TFT TCO-99
    750 Euro FSC P19-A 19" (TFT TCO-03 ?)
    Prices are from:
    |1087|19&Sort=bymfr

Is the FSC worth the extra 33% in price?
On the LG1910B i have a custom setup function, movie, text, internet
this is not a must have, but a nice bonus to the low price.

Do they all three have same panel and electronic?
If I want a priceworthy Allround is it still the FSC or maybe a LG?

I will tell all my friends to visit prad.de
whenever they want to read TFT reviewws or
want to ask TFT-vetereans about TFT-displays.

  • You do not disturb me! Really not!

The LG has an other electronic as the FS. LG devices are not that well worked up sometimes. The mechanics of the LG devices are not fine working. You see, I´m not a big fan of LG.

I would pay the 30% more for the FS.

If you have more questions, ask!

  • Hmm seems I cant get any P19-S in one month.
Delivery time in Sweden is prel. 10/12

Totamec how is the FSC TFT modells lined up?
I got confused when I read thru the whole thread again.

    F-S P19-1 19 1280x1024 D-Sub/DVI-D TCO-99
    F-S P19-1A 19 1280x1024 DVI-D TCO-03
    F-S P19-1S 19 ANA/DIG 600:1 250CD/QM

The P19-1S modell is that a newer modell of P19-1.
    they both use MVP right?

But you said the LG1920P have the same panel
as P19-1A, right and both used S-IPS?

How can the LG specifications be allmost like the
P19-1S and P19-1 when there are different Panels?

  • As Tomatec said the P19-1A will be perfekt for you! It has got an IPS Panel, which is good for gaming (because it is fast ->25ms), Office, video and CAD!
In addition to that the P19-1A has Pivot and you can adjust it´s hight! The other TFT´s by FSC are equipped with slower MVA panels, so you won`t have fun with games and fast videos (applications)!

Maybe I could help You! With friendly regards, callya-g!
