Eizo S2110W - GFX card Compatability

  • I'm looking to get my hands on the new Eizo 21" widescreen shortly but am wondering if I may have an issue with my present graphics card.

I want to run the screen at its optimum resolution - 1680x1050. But it appears that my Leadtek 6600GT doesn't support this resolution - the closest being 1600x900 & 1600x1200.

Is this going to cause a compatibility problem ? Do I need to get a new graphics card ?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Not true me now thinks...

From what I've learnt elsewhere - the graphics card will support any resolution the monitor driver will allow it to support.
So I assume when I install the drivers for the new monitor the resolution 1680x1050 will be available.

    Can anybody confirm this, thanks.

  • yep.
    *confirm* :D
getting the right monitor.inf file should fix it.
If Eizo doesnt offer one (would be odd though) and if the standard windows plug'n'pray drivers dont work, you can instead give tools like powerstrip a try. They let you create your own monitor driver with just a few clicks.
Or, - in case you're really keen to get into tech details - there are some guides around the web explaining how to copy/paste a custom monitor.inf file by hand.

  • Thanks for the confirmation.
I'm sure Eizo will supply a .inf file.
