Eizo s1910 Calibration

  • Hi,

I recently purchased an Eizo s1910 based on the good reviews it has received. I am running it on a Dell PC using the dual output of the pc's video card. I am using the original Dell 17" monitor for PS2 menus etc. I have a Spyder2 calibrator but do not seem to be getting good results.
Anyone with similar setup able to offer some help?
What PS2 settings should I use afterwards for printing?

    HELP!!!!!!!

    Anthony.

    ...dual output...

    by that, you mean
    2x DVI
    or
    1x DVI + 1 VGA (analog)?

Is your Eizo S1910 connected to a DVI port?

  • how does it manifest itself?
is it just the measurements indicating something's off or is it clearly visible too?

  • Hi,

I print 6x4 on a Sony DPP-EX5 dye sub and have a Canon i9950 on order so I want things to be right. Since I tried to calibrate the screen, the photos are printing off colour despiote looking quite good on screen. How should I calibrate the eizo? My Dell had RGB sliders in the onscreen menu and it was easy to adjust based on the recommendation of the Spyder.
What settings should I have in PSCS2 and with the printer?
A photo looks different on both screens but I no longer care about how they look on the Dell as I will be using that for menus etc. in PSCS2.
I am sure that there is a simple solution to this problem and that I am making some basic mistake.

I have scanned a sample print and have the original file to compare it to, if I knew how to attach images to a post? ?(

When posting, directly above the reply text box, click the seventh button from the left. It says 'insert image' when you hover your mouse over it.

If you haven't done so already, you can set the appearance of the board interface to English
    http://www.prad.de/board/usercp.php?action=options_change
it's the last option at the bottom of the page.
dunno if it's set to German by default.

  • Hi,

When I press the image button I am asked "Enter the complete URL of the image."
To the left of the message window in a blue box it states "Images are not allowed". Maybe I am not authorised or not a member long enough???

  • Hi,

Pressing the attachments button does nothing for me. I have not yet tried the eizo download. Is there a way of sending you the sample images other that through the forum?????

    A..........

  • hmm, strange, must be something with your browser.
anyways, for the time being you can email them to johannesprad.de
    and I'll post them here.

  • Hi,

Sorry for the delay in responding. My internet connection was unavailable due to hackers on the server.

As fas as I can see the profiles are as follows (From colour management option):-
Monitor - Profile created with Spyder 2.
    Sony DPP-EX5 Printer - Adobe RGB1998.
Canon N650U Scanner - sRGB Colour space profile.

I hope this is the information you are lookijng for.

I have received the Canon i9950 printer but am still awaiting the proper paper for it. I might try printing the sample photos on it from my laptop to see how they turn out. Laptop has not been profiled or colour management options altered from defaults.

Thanks for your help and, above all, patience. =)
