16:10---->4:3

  • Since my Belinea 102035W TFT monitor has na 16:10 aspect ratio and many games don't suppport the widescreen option but only 4:3 resolutions the image happens to be stretched. There's a pixel clock option in the tft menu, but it's only available when using a VGA cable and furthermore it doesn't support a satisfying result. A video I saw in the monitor's review presented the monitor displaying DOOM III and it had two black stripes on each side which kept the picture in a 4:3 aspect.

    Is there a program or any other way to help me keep the games looking right? ?(

    TIA.

    Hello,
    Yes! Both nVidia and ATI provide an option for this in their driver settings when connected via DVI.

  • Well, I found it. Scale image to panel size, right? But it doesn't work right. Whatever resolution I set the image it still stretched, but smaller if below 1650x1085. I want if, let's say, I set a 1024x768 res. the image to be 4:3 and scaled to fit the height of the display and have two black stripes to fill to 16:10.

  • Unfortunately, ATI offers these more advanced scaling options in their high end cards only. They might include such an option for all cards in future driver versions though, since ATI often has been criticized for this.
    Whereas nVidia cards generally support fixed aspect ratio scaling by default.

  • This button actually changes the size of the picture, but not in the way I want it to. There must a program which controls this.
