Philips 190P7: Can be changed Smart Brightness values by defect?

  • Hi, I have a doubt on Smart Brightness(SB) function(auto-adjusting of brightness by means of light sensor) of 19" TFT Philips 190P7ES.
Is possible to reconfigure the max and min brightness values by defect of SB in some way, and permanently ?.
May be down/up regulating OSD brightness (manually) with S.B switched on when there is maximum light in the room. And so minimum value (at darkness) is changed in proportion too (?).

    Thank you very much. :D

  • Sorry, I do not really understand you: You want to switch off Smart Bright? Or is the sensor defect?

Excuse me, I asked if was possible in this Philips 190P7(as in Eizo s1931) to change preset brightness range of function which adapts brightness to environment light via light sensor (named in English “Smart Brigthess”).

I'm very interested in this monitor because support this feature, but I have a very sensitive eyes so it would be very important for me to confirm that this could be adapted at my visual taste.

    Thank you.

  • When the brightness sensor is switched on the brightness will be regulated fully automaticly. Though you can adjust brightness, but after turning off and turning on Philips 190P7 again the value is changed again, too, respectively adapted to your environment.

If you're not satisfied with regulation you will be able, of course, to switch off Smart Bright. Then your own default is not changed by the monitor.

Hope this is you were asking for; I'm sorry for my average english.

  • Lightsensor is designed to hold actual brightness manually set in OSD.

So, you have 110cd (50%) under light conditions, you switch light on in your room and Lightsensor receives brighter input -> counts change. And increase brightness to 140cd (60%) to hold your preset 110cd (50%) against current light conditions.

That's the idea, but implementation is subject of each manufacturer.
