Acer AL732 important...

  • Yesterday I have tried an Acer AL732.

This monitor don't have real 16M color palette. 8o
It use some interlaced color extension technique.

So be careful in the choice.

Is a nice monitor, with nice price, OSD and
respose time... but not for graphic works.

I hope can be useful...

    Ciao

  • Quite interesting.
But how did you test that? Are you using a special color program?
I think most of TFT Displays aren't really "true color", so in printing industry they can only rely on CRT atm.
Colors on a specific printer type are another story...

According to the opinion of most board memebers the NEC1880SX and the EIZO L565 have a very good color management.
Perhaps you give them a try.

  • You don't need a special color program to see...
I've open the "Paint" color palette and shades
    discontinuities are evident.

Plus... if you look near the panel you can
see soft horizontal lines, like some interlacing.

Is not a simple color accuracy problem...

I've used a IPS panel and is great for
colors and response time, but I don't like
    the "crystalline effect" to much...

I like more the MVA/PVA image clarity.

Now I have a Acer AL922 with Fujitsu MVA
    panel and is beatiful...
I think better than Samsung equivalent...
    only OSD is trashy.

19'' is big.... too big... ;(

17'' can be small... but 18'' is enough.

    Ciao
