Philips 190P7ES - Belinea 1980 S1. Same panel, same defects and virtues?

  • Hi, two week ago I send back to seller my 190P7ES... I found vertical viewing very scarcely, in particular top one... Every time I got up of my desk I noticed a not negligible lost on red tonalities. And it was not better than on my other TFT monitor, a Samsung 711MP. In theory with a inferior panel, a TN.
I wonder if in static behavior 19' TFT Belinea 1980 S1 reproduces same defects and virtues as 190P7ES (viewing angles, backlight, uniformity of colors...), because mounts same panel P-MVA

Now I’m evaluating if to order or not a Belinea 1980 S1. Can anyone throw light upon it?

    Thank you very much.

PD: To add that my 190P7ES unit reproduced all gray scale correctly by Digital entry, so not by VGA one. Some gray tones at the end of scale was showed like pure black.

  • I think you must judge the viewing angle "using the monitor" and not walking around the desk. :)
However, if you want a better viewing angle, it has no sense to buy a monitor with the same panel.

For the best viewing angle go for IPS panels:
    Nec LCD1990FX (LG.Philips S-IPS)
    Nec LCD1990SXi (LG.Philips S-IPS)
    Eizo L797 (Nec SA-SFT)
    ecc.

Also S-PVA (Samsung) and AMVA (AU Optronics) technologies have a better v.a. compared to older PVA and P-MVA.

  • Excuse me, I have just noticed I made a mistake in my post 8o.
I mean “every time I got up of my desk chair....” (every time I rose from the desk chair) :D.
I told you that to point out that there are perceptible differences in red tones watching the monitor sitting down(in front of) or standing up (at 40-45º).
And I wonder if I would have to expect same behavior in Belinea 1980 S1 due it mounts same panel (P-MVA)?... ?(

Regarding monitors you are so kind to point me... unfortunately all them are out of my budget (350€).

    Thanks you very much.
