    You write of the new Philips monitor:
    "With the help of the physical on-off button, energy-conscious users are able to save even more power. If the monitor is turned of by that manual switch, it actually does not consume power. "


    Wow!! Gosh! Turn it off and it uses no power! What a novel idea. Whatever next?

    If you only press the power on/off button on the front of a display, the power consumption of the most monitors are still < 1 Watt. But it's not 0 Watt. So it's a nice feature to save power.
