Are there any 19" IPS yet?

  • Thanks Prad.

What Prad said is absolutly right. I saw a 1980 IPS TFT in japan. The shopowner didn´t know the panel producing company.

A short test will follow tonight, I´m just two hours back from austalia. ;)

I tried to buy one, but the date of delivery is february or later! Cause of that fact, the guy tried to sell me an Eizo 19" with an IPS Panel, but I´m really not sure if this was one. Test tonight too.

  • Well, yeah. I wanna have this monitor ASAP. And I wouldn't dare buyin' a PVA panel because I'm way too afraid of gettin' tearing all the time. Therefore I'm kinda anxiously awaiting this IPS version :( Wish they'd just put the damn technique of an 1880SX into a one inch bigger chassis ;)

  • AnandTech guy say LG is working to a 19'' 16ms IPS panel.

But this sound strange thinking they doesn't succeed neither to deliver the 25ms version... ;)

Sounds really funny. :D Maybe LG should work on his old panels and service first and then develope an 16ms panel.

I guess this would be a much better idea than another faulty panel.

LG - We make things possible!

Another expression for "LG - We screw things up" or what? :D

A couple of days ago, I got the chance to listen to a conversation between 'the normal dumb customer' and a LG salesman while a 19" LG display was presented. Dude, I'm tellin' ya, that was hilarious. That guy was like "And you've always gotta take a look at the panel's response time. That's the most important thing in a LC display." Yeah .. ddddd, blow me! Somehow I'm feelin' sorry for those who believe this bulls... you know. Dunno how people can be so ... dumb. I mean, I ain't sayin' my decisions are always good or smart, no but it's like you're about to spend 600 $ or € in something. And this is, at least in my eyes, a value that deserves a little engagement or dedication to it's topic.

  • Yes, that´s right.

The people should collect more information from different point of views, before they decide to buy such an expensive TFT.

But many people obviously think that they talk with experts when they go to large shopping centers like Wal Mart or Media Markt or Saturn.

Sometimes its really funny to hear the dealers opinion. :D ;)

  • Dealers don´t have an own opinion when it´s comin´ to LG. Sell it or you get kicked out, that´s the strategy. I hate them day by day more.

  • Muahahahah ...

Customer: "So ... what's the good thing about this LCD?"

LG Salesman: "The 16ms response time."

C: "Yeah? What about it? What's it good for?

S: "Well ... erm ... ohhh ... how fast the monitor refreshes frames."

C: "Ahhh .. well, eh thank you. Bye" (*thinking: What a stupid assh...*)

You know ... I don't like 'em for this selling technique or strategy. It's like you're intending to spent a lot of money for something and the guys who are to sell you your desired product aren't even able to explain its capabilities and features (and what they technically stand for). So, THAT kinda makes me sick ...

  • Jack Daniel's the reality is that LCD is a complex argument that few people know (also "professional" people).

So is normal that salesman say 25ms LCD is faster than 30ms and ignores the technology (IPS, MVA, ...) and the fact that response time is heavily dependent from colors.

This is why there are so many people in this forum... :]

  • Just: :D :D :D :D And a little bit of ;(

    I s'pose you don't have a damn clue how true that is ... :(
